NMMS ANNUAL FORAY

As a means to offer members an extended experience both educational and social, NMMS has held an Annual Foray almost since its founding, with its first "typical" multi-day event in 1987 at Eagle Nest, NM. While most of the Forays have explored locations in the state north of Albuquerque, a few have been set in the southern part of NM, most recently in Ruidoso in 2005. In 2012 and 2013, Foray participants even ventured out of state to Pagosa Springs, CO.

In addition to one or two days of Field Trips to multiple area sites, these events usually include group meals, presentations by guest mycologists, occasional afternoon workshops or talks, and sessions for evaluating and identifying collected specimens.

Activities are centered at a host hotel, where attendees may book rooms at a reduced rate. Alternative accommodations in the area may also be arranged by attendees.

Registration is open to NMMS members, and occasionally also to NAMA members and to members of other mycological organizations or NAMA affiliates. Eligibility requirements will be specified in registration materials. Each Foray, however, is capped at a certain number of participants, so early registration is recommended.
